It is really difficult getting to speak to qualified medics. Mostly the surgery requires a patient to buy there own medicine it seems and to book even their own blood test appointment when the nurses are at the same surgery. I do not feel that my healthcare needs are met at all, especially when I am waiting so long to see a specialist at hospital.

Suggested improvements
To be more patient focused and not make them feel like they are an annoyance. We don't all get free prescriptions and if we pay for a service one would expect to receive it where necessary. It's all very well saying that pharmacies can deal with things but I have found this not the case when you need them.

Response from Clarkson Surgery

Hello Many thanks for providing us with your feedback which is appreciated. We are sorry to learn that you do not feel your needs are met at our surgery. Primary Care has needed to change since the Covid pandemic and we now have a multi-disciplinary team of clinicians who are fully trained and experienced to support patients with their medical needs. This can include patients attending a local pharmacy for support if they have a common minor illness or a local treatment centre for wound care etc. We operate a telephone triage system which enables our colleagues to speak with patients to determine the current problems and offer a treatment plan including if necessary a face to face appointment. Every patient call is briefly discussed with our senior clinician on the day who advises the best course of action for the patient. If you have a specific concern you would like me to investigate, please contact me at t.zeferino@nhs.net. Kind regards. Terri Zeferino Practice Manager
