I am very, very distressed after trying to make an appointment with the Church View surgery . Having recevied a worrying message asking me to make an appointment to discuss some results with a doctor, I have made multiple attempts to contact the surgery over the past 3 days. I have had to take time out from my working day to try and contact the surgery again today. I was 7th in the queue to speak to somebody and was cut off when I got to the next in line. This process took 35 minutes. I rang again on two telephone lines concurrently and was on hold for 20 minutes. I explained what had happened to the Receptionist thinking she would want to know that the telephone system was not working correctly. She was very rude retorting that she was not a telephonist. I politely asked for her name - she said in a very rude tone that she did not have to give her name and cut my call. I have had my call cut twice further and had to start the same waiting process again on 2 telephone lines. In total I spent almost 90 minutes trying to get an appointment with a Doctor. I work for the NHS and am utterly disgusted by the totally unacceptable attitude of the Church View staff. They should be removed from their front line liaison position until they have had intensive customer service training.The shocking attitude and service would not be tolerated at the Hospital or in any other industry . The staff need to remember and understand that they are dealing with people who are already worried, unwell and distressed.
