Went to the reception today waited in line when it was my turn was asked by Avis could they help me I moved forward to speak and was told to wait by her as she had started a conversation with another member of staff about how badly they had been talked to by another patient I heard details of description of the patient etc after about 5 mins of waiting listening to them gossip was asked what I wanted told her I had a blood test and help as antibiotics did not agree with me could I please change them was given an eye roll by Avis and told I should have told the doctor before so it was on my notes I felt like she was telling me off like I was a child and donor appreciate the way she talked to me I have dementia and cannot process things quickly left the surgery very upset that I was talked to like that the rest of the staff were lovely and couldn’t have been more helpful this lady needs more training in interpersonal skills

Suggested improvements
She needs her skill set reviewed not be the face that talks to the public politeness costs nothing
