One can never get an appointment over the telephone if u don't try 100 times at 8am. Even when one does get through, one is left with very limited times and as one works, the times are not always convenient. My wife has had extreme difficulty getting appointments for her self and our 4year old. The waiting room is always full of old people, probably there for a chat as their lonely or because they have a sniffle etc... This needs to change as people(below 65/70) as well as children need appointments but as expressed in my earlier comments, cannot always get them. I have, on two or 3 occasions had rows with receptionist over the telephone, sinply because they have challenged me or my wife about when we last got our prescriptions, I asked them what medical training they had to base their opinion on and was hung up on. Some of the receptionists are very nice, don't get me wrong, but some of them think they are DRs and able to make decisions about people's health care and medical needs, which is wrong. Receptionists are there to answer phones, book appointments for people and hand out prescriptions at the desk. They are NOT there to make any decisions about whether a person can or cannot have their prescription. Again, this needs to change. Nevertheless, I am happy about the way the surgery is run.
