I think relatively easy when really needed. I have had a mixture of phone consultations and in person appointments at the surgery when deemed necessary which seems to work very well.

Suggested improvements
I think the only thing that could be improved is the length of time spent waiting to be answered on the phone but don’t have a solution as to how to do this . I appreciate e-consult deals with some of it but when discussing an ongoing condition it is easier to speak to someone on the phone. That having been said the stretched staff on the phone are always very patient and friendly once you do get through and strive to help.

I have been wiring for a neurology referral to be expedited and the GP did it but it somehow got lost and was never received. Its meant my ability to work has been greatly affected and all symptoms have worsened and incapacitated me at times

More face to face appointments and better referrals system and visibility of progress of referrals for patients

I’ve always managed to get an appointment on the phone, albeit sometimes had to wait a while, but with the new call back system it’s much better.

It all went well for me today. I find the staff ( both in reception and the pharmacy )more than helpful and always willing to help.

This was a telephone appointment so the positive was not having to travel in and having contact with lots of people unwell. I worry about the future as I had to write to request an appointment to avoid taking up telephone lines that are mainly for emergency appointments. As we age, changing systems do tend to isolate patients from support.

Suggested improvements
I wonder if there could be a separate non emergency triage system. So that you can request a future appointment within say 2 weeks rather than the fixed current system that appears to be today or very limited options within a month. Our GPs that know us are a precious support - not a commodity. I hope we can find ways to support healthcare in our community
