I am disappointed to report that a recent experience fell short of giving a good service . This was due to the fact that one of the doctors at this practice failed to send my referral to the hospital as was promised at the time of my appointment. Over three weeks ago. I since discovered this three weeks later when I contacted East Surrey Hospital only to be informed that they had not received any referral from Caterham Valley Practice. They instructed me to return to my GP and ask them to refer my details again with an urgent request. Two days later I checked with the hospital again. They had just received a request for only a routine and not urgent ultrasound as was instructed . It had been noted that I was anxious to be seen as soon as possible, having recently endured ongoing treatment for skin cancer. This incompetence has created a nine week delay which when treating cancer can be significant.
