The appointment system is impossible... 8.30 is a really difficult time of day to make a call if you're trying to get kids to school or get to work. Even if you do get through, there are rarely appointments on the day with either the doctor you want (e.g. Female doctor), or that you can fit in with work/school day. You are then faced with either phoning every day with low chances of getting anything suitable, or waiting 2-3 weeks for a pre-bookable appointment, which is totally unacceptable if you're trying to sort out a problem that is affecting you at the time. As a result, I often avoid making appointments and either let the problem go on too long, or try to self diagnose and sort out at the pharmacist, which are probably not good solutions in the long run. I am considering changing GP practices because of this, which is a shame as the doctors all seem to be good.
Dr Tew listens to me and is very caring.
It is easier to get an appointment online if I book 2-3 weeks in advance.
The nurses who draw blood are pretty good because they get my vein on the first stick (this is not the norm for me).
All in all, I have had pretty good service.
The midwives, nurses and GPs are excellent, would definitely recommend - particularly for pre natal care.
Excellent staff, excellent care and individual attention. But the surgery is oversubscribed and the only way to guarantee a same day appointment is to que outside the surgery at half eight in the morning. Not ideal when you are sick or have sick children.
Doctors / nurses / receptionists / cleaners are great but trying to get an appointment is not too good
