I am really impressed with the online services you now offer. It is an excellent idea and I hope it will continue.

Great surgery and great doctors - some receptionists nicer/more helpful than others - but overall very good

The phone system is disingenuous and stressful for booking appointments. A simply call queue is required rather than the way one is expected to repeatedly dial frantically at 8:30 when the call line is overwhelmed. I worry more for the sake of the elderly and those who are really sick. This call service seems to be a national thing but it is a complete farce. And who really appreciates the music on the phone as you wait, as well as the annoying messages that say the same thing repeatedly. There have been times when I have spent all morning trying to get through and failed. Finally I would like to highlight a case where it posed a serious risk to my health, on a day I was rushed to hospital. One morning I spend a long time trying to get through on phone because I was extremely unwell. After 40 minutes, from my experience I knew now was the point where it may be too late. I called a NHS number - some kind of more urgent one, and got it booked with ease. Unfortunately by that point the only one left was in 15 minutes. Therefore, without knowing I had sepsis, ecoli in my blood, I cycled over with drastically low blood pressure. Later I was rushed to hospital in an ambulance. If I was simply able to join the call queue (because I earned the right by calling in at the proper time), then stress and danger could have been reduced. The system should be able to treat callers in a fair way and put them in a queue on first served basis. The queue shouldn’t be really annoying to listen to. Finally, the expectation that everyone simultaneously and chaotically calls in at 8:30 (otherwise you don’t get seen) needs to be challenged.
