The receptionists are so rude when you ring early in the morning for an appointment that day. Especially Michelle. She’s quite abrupt and rushes you as if she can’t be bothered. Not what you need when your not feeling well be it physically or mentally !!!!!!

This surgery has a great appointment system because you can get a same day appointment. I have a friend in South Shields who rang for an appointment & saw his GP three weeks later.

On my latest visit to the centre I booked a nurses appointment and was told the earliest booking would be in 3 weeks which I accepted and asked if I could be considered for any cancellations which the receptionist noted on the computer system. Two days later I received a call from the surgery offering me an appointment the following day which I greatly appreciated. On other occasional visits I have always been able to see a doctor the same day which is pretty amazing considering some of the comments I hear from friends who live in other areas and have struggled to get same day appointments.

It is very hard to get an appointment to see a GP, and you never get to see the same GP each time you do get an appointment. The GP relies on the patient to remember their medical history instead of reading the notes, when you are ill it is hard to remember what you need to recall, and without medical training - how can you know what is pertinent? My last GP offered health checks to pre-empt need, I doubt this GP surgery has the staff or the time for that, sadly.

Service is fine when you can get an appointment- but this only seems possible if you turn up in person first thing.
