Attended GP surgery today for a Flu Jab. I arrived 5 minutes before appointment time and via the camera told the receptionist who I was there to see and what for, she asked for my name to check my appointment. She came back and said someone would be out to collect me. I am the only one outside the door. Nurse opens the door and I go in, she checks my temperature we both sanitize and then go to the room. She then informs me that I am there for blood tests and jab. I queried this as I was only booked in for jab. She then informed me it was for what is normal for a diabetic and I thought okay so she took my blood. She then left the room to get the jab and when she returned she then asked my date of birth. That was when things changed. She had apparently taken my blood for someone else and then she said I asked for .... when I opened the door. I informed her I did not hear that and I was the only one at the door. There was no apology and she then put my bloods into the bin, gave me the flu jab and said that's you done, I'll show you out. Not a good experience and not to double check who I was before she took the blood was wrong. I think next time I will check that I am the person they are supposed to be seeing.

Suggested improvements
Staff need to double check that the person they are collecting from the door is the person they are to be attending to. Why would you come out to collect someone who has not even registered in with reception.
