Share review of Audley Mills Surgery
When attending a cervical screening - something women of my age (under 30) are actively encouraged to do - the treatment I received left me dismayed and, frankly, horrified.
Upon discussing that I was not currently using contraception (which is due to a high risk of stroke, fully known to the surgery). I was looked at with disgust (no doubt because of my younger age) and from then on was spoken to, and made to feel, like someone making terrible life choices.
I did not arrive for the appointment feeling any anxiety, which is I imagine a key reason that so many young women don't attend such a vulnerable procedure, but when you are then greeted by someone who acts with such judgement and attitude it's easy to see why many don't get screened. The nurse represents the antithesis of the type of person that should be administering and encouraging these tests.
