It was my first long term prescription request having registered at Woodhill. My London GP practice gave me 3 months medicines (which I need to stay alive.) However after having FAXED an example prescription (from London), the pharmacist only wrote a prescription for 1 month. The BMA guidelines for long term prescriptions allow the GP to write a 3 month prescription. The surgery only offered an extra month (for my hopliday - receptionist's words.). I have to go overseas to deal with a dead relatives estate and I need to maximise the time I have available in Russia, so I really need 3 months. The failure of the surgery to repeat the prescription in FULL has put me under a lot of stress as I don't know whether 2 months supply will be enough if the estate is still not fully sorted out. The receptionist was adamant that I could not get the same prescription because it is surgery policy to only give 1 month. I subsequently tried to book an online GP consultation for this evening to get a GP authorisation for a 3 month presecription and the receptionist put the phone down on me saying that I was being abusive. I never swore at her. I was just insistent that a) I have a right to get a 3 month prescription under medical rules, and b)the refusal of the surgery to follow my previous GP's prescription regime was not correct. The result is that the surgery has potentially placed me in medical danger. Is it any wonder that I am getting stressed out? I have to get on a plane in 5 days on the morning of 19/07/23 in Stansted and my prescription is still not yet ready in full (as of 13/07/23 10.52am)

Suggested improvements
Given me the same 3 month prescription that my previous GP practice used to do, and Given me the opportunity to discuss the matter with a GP at the Woodhill practice.
