Due to our doctor retiring, we were transferred to the Meadows Medical Practice in 2023. Our previous Doctor of over 20 years was great, so we were concerned about the change; however, it has been really positive for all five of us. Reception and medical staff have consistently tried to accommodate our various health needs, and fit us in for appointments. We mainly deal with the nurses and Dr Gill who are always attentive and professional.

I've been at this surgery for over a year, it's been a nightmare. Staff are terrible and disrespectful, could be because I'm not Scottish.

Super easy to phone up and get a phone consultation however they will frequently leave me without help for several days, worsening the situation.

This has been my GP Surgery since 1991. The quality of care and compassion shown has been excellsnt. I've had longstanding mental health issues (much improved now) and throughout received great care. When i've visited the Surgery with physical health issues the treatment has been good with prompt referral to specialists when needed. I have an annual health check including blood tests. They are very thorough. The drug i take for mental health reasons can in some patients make diabetes and other conditions more likely so the monitoring of my physical health is reassuring. The surgery is well run with friendly and efficient Reception staff.

It feels odd rating the surgery, a bit cheeky really. But I understand the current policies re. targets, feedback, patients' journies. Length of time as patient - over 40 years. In recent years my contact has been more frequent (2 acute deseases). Experience throughout has been excellent. Appointments suited to me, whether with GP, practice nurse, or phlebotomist. The surgery itself is traditional in outlay, and has been regularly updated (a bit shabby at times in the past but always very clean), and is currently freshly decorated. And so to the really important bit. From the moment I walk through the door I feel comfortable and welcomed. The reception team are friendly and efficient. There may be a wait but I'd rather an appointment overran than cut off at dictate of the minute hand on the clock. Appointment itself- I have the attention of the doctor from start to finish. My notes are there, my investigation's, results are up on the screen. The appointment takes the form of me talking, doctor clarifying and summing up followed by discussing plan. I leave with a clear picture of where I am and where we're going. Didn't start this meaning to rattle on but once I started I found it was important to me to get across how proud I am of my surgery. This is only one patient''s journey.

I only stayed with this GP practice for less than a year as I was thoroughly disappointed. I had to write a letter of complaint and then that was dismissed so I left. Dr Homer did not have the empathy and compassion to deal with mental health patients and the final straw was when she gave me the wrong prescription and the receptionists (especially Mrs Grant) went out of their way to make rectifying this as difficult as possible. Even my pharmacy was baffled.

Abismal! A couple of the receptionists are sour faced and go out of their way not to help you. They don't care about patients at all. Until very recently try had a sign that said "no prams"! How are mothers meant to bring in their wee babies? I've seen the large lady be extremely rude to patients, especially if they are if a different race. I have friends who told me to avoid this surgery, should have listened. I had an emergency and called to request a phone back from the doctor.... Am still waiting! It's an EMERGENCY!! Unbelievable. They don't phone you with results, they won't help sign passport applications, you have to wait Hal an hour to see doctor even though you had an appointment. Worst surety I've EVER been to and am now leaving

I have been with this surgery for many years and was always able to get an appointment within 24 hours. Recently since Dr Grant left, the surgery appear not to be able to cope and at one point I was told I would have to wait 5 days for an appointment - not acceptable at all especially when they are advertising for new patients???? They clearly cannot manage time for the patients they have let alone take on more. Sadly it is younger GP's now running the surgery, who I don't think have the same commitment as the older generation.
