Review

This was my first experience with this medical practice. Receptionists were fine. But I felt as though I was just being rushed through my examination and pushed out the door. Very impersonal. I am not impressed.

Suggested improvements
  • I would prefer to have a GP that is assigned to me, as it used to be. Someone who is familiar with your medical history and knows you. This experience made me feel as though I was on a conveyor belt as though the doctor had to rush and had very little time for me. Only listened to the back of my chest and not the front. Very rushed, and did not seem at all interested in what was wrong and just pushed a prescription.

Receptionists are friendly and helpful in the surgery or over the phone, its slways clean and warm and the waiting room is comfy. Parking is plentiful and free and the nurses and drs are amazing, all the medical staff are female as are all the receptionists and staff which is great if you're female but could be an issue if you're male with certain issues. Doesn't bother me at all, im 49 and been at the surgery for 30+ years so they have literally seen it all. I hope i never have to change surgeries for various reasons but the main one is my dr who is an angel, so kind and and genuinely cares about you and does everything she can to help, shes saved my life by listening and getting me the help i needed and i will be forever grateful to her, she is the best dr ive ever had and is a real godsend.

Suggested improvements
  • Nothing, from what ive experienced its always been 100% perfect. Staff make a real effort to remember you and will chat with you which is nice, my favourite is wee Jackie who always has a smile and makes you feel so welcome. Keep up the good work.

I have always been treated by polite friendly reception staff and given an appointment when one is available. Because it is a popular practice it is busy and therefore a wait is inevitable sometimes. In an emergency an appointment or advice has been granted immediately.

The receptionist staff can be very off putting at times, as if you are disturbing them by calling for an appointment - or to check about a prescription. You get the feeling that they are there to check that you have a valid illness to see the doctor about even though I would guess that none of them have medical qualifications. The female doctors are very nice and approachable whereas the male doctor is very abrupt. Can I ask what the use in having a comments section in the repeat prescription area is if it is ignored?

The reception staff do their best to arrange an appointment as soon as there is one available and will always offer an emergency appointment if needed. This may result waiting in the Surgery but it’s worth it if it is really an emergency. My experience has always been positive with polite and helpful receptionists. They do have busy periods but this is to be expected. The Doctors are excellent and appear to spend time listening to the problem. They don’t appreciate seeing a patient as an emergency and then being presented with a long list of chronic complaints! My family experience has always been positive
