I have been a patient at Blackhall MC since 1993 and have been extremely pleased with the healthcare that I have received . I have never once had an occasion to doubt that all the Staff at the practice collectively endeavour to deliver and treat all patients with respect and dignity at all times . I never fail to recommend the surgery to other people. I am extremely happy with all aspects of my care and that of my Husband. Thank you to all the Staff

I have been with this surgery for over 40 years and when I spotted the previous review I felt compelled to write this review. I have always found the staff-- doctors, nurses & receptionist-- very helpful and pleasant to do with. Having worked in the health care sector and had dealings with other surgeries, I have always boasted how good my own GP practice was and also how advanced they were in using computer, interfaces and internet etc. I have a long term lung problem and can cope with infections quickly and easily, thanks to Dr Mackinnon who phoned me back and the receptionist I spoke to when I phoned the surgery that morning. Thank you.

We have been with Blackhall Medical Centre for many years,up until about two years ago it was all fine since then it has gone downhill dramatically !! My main complaint is with a practise nurse who is very rude and made me feel very uncomfortable. I did phone the surgery to ask who the practise manager was as I had a complaint !!only to be told “we don’t have one at the moment” Definitley considering changing doctors sadly !!

Have been with this practice for a number of years and have a few points to make. •Receptionists are rude, nosey, snooty and give you the impression that doing their job is an inconvenience. •GP wise, a few of them are well mannered and listen but the rest cant get you out the door fast enough, make you feel like you are wasting their time and on occassion you feel that you woukd get better medical advice from google. Overall woukdnt reccommend unless you too treat people in this manner.

saw a Dr here for my high blood pressure he recommended tablets which I told him I had had already and they made me ill I had to the hospital who told me to stop taking them because of side effects of chest pain etc - he said try them any way - well I did and guess what chest pains - why didn't he listen to me - I said they had a bad effect on me and had to go to hospital but he insisted I try them - time to change Dr - I can honestly say I find Holland and Barrett excellent and hospitals are good but unfortunately have to go to Dr first

My family have been registered with Blackhall Medical Practice since we moved here in November 1982 & in all this time I can honestly say we have been provided with excellent care & attention by all members of staff. The doctors are always very pleasant & take time to listen to you. They are very helpful in advising you on your options & do their utmost to expedite any referrals you may need. The receptionists are always very pleasant, polite & helpful & will always do their best to accommodate your needs. The practice nurses are also very pleasant & professional in their approach. I consider myself very fortunate to be a patient in this practice.

I know the receptionist are pretty rude here but unfortunately now spread to Drs - saw a Dr this morning who made it obvious wasting her time - what the Dr needs to realise I don't want to be ill be off work and to top it all see a Dr with no manners. From now on Holland and Barrett or chemist - I have asked the vet if he could take me on his books - he says he is asked that all the time for the same reason Drs are so rude. See my previous remarks have been deleted. PS: as said before only reason still here selling my house so will be moving. Also this practice should realise other people are professionals. All the professionals I have worked for would never speak to anyone the way this practice does. Speaking to other people and reading comments online it seems to be requirement to be a Dr you have no manners. anyway no more learned my lesson this time-waste of time - as said annoying thing is - the money I have paid in to the NHS.

I sadly have to agree with previous comments re - front office staff. My mum is a patient and as her carer I've had to call and attend the practice and the reception staff don't make it a pleasant experience. They are unfriendly, not especially helpful or understanding. My mum has a dementia and thankfully good family support who can deal with their rudeness, however, I feel sorry for those who have to manage their hostility !

I have just joined this practice. I realise this has been a mistake and as soon as my treatment has cleared up I will be moving on. I have no problems with the Drs but the receptionists are the rudest I have ever met. I don't know how they are still in employment would not last long in the real world. The Nurse did not have a great manner. I can see from some of the reviews that the front desk is not popular. I can't understand it I am employed as a receptionist and if I spoke to a client how they did I would be out of work. Hopefully one day they will leave and join the real world where you have to be polite to clients. After typing this I still cannot understand why the receptionists and Nurse are so rude.

Some of the GPs in this clinic are caring and attentive, others won't even bother to listen. However, the truly nightmare are the people working in the front desk, they are the rudest people I have ever dealt with, they do not listen to what you have to say, if you are trying to explain a certain situation you won't listen and say things like, "excuse me, excuse me, I can't help you" and hang up. They never even try to help nor understand, simply horrible, disgraceful. The only reason I stay at this clinic is because it is conveniently located to my house, just about 5 minutes walk.
