Having sometimes unbearable inflamed skin covering two thirds of my body l was given Methotrexate. I had previously been prescribed Cyclosporin but it sent my blood pressure high and l had to come off it. However it did work calming my skin completely. Methotrexate has to be monitored with regular blood tests to check platelets, kidney and liver functios and other things. I have to carry a booklet showing my blood results and dose. I take my prescribed dose on a Monday then take Floic Acid on Friday. This medication is working well for me. Prior to taking it my skin was so soar and constantly itching. Methotrexate is very good at bringing down inflammation levels the downside is the high level of fatigue it causes but all medications have side effects!

I found methotrexate really good. I take the lower dosage of 7.5mg once a week. This certainly does the trick. I had no side effects. Would definitely recommend.
