It was after I had an ablation at Barts which was very successful that unfortunately my daughter suffered terribly with an allergic reaction.
As soon as the cyclizine was administered through the veins it had a immediate effect on her head.It made her head spin and she lost all feeling in her body she felt paralysed.She had no speech and her breathing went very shallow.Then the awful greyness and sweating was very alarming to me standing at the end of the bed.
The nurses got assistance quickly and she was given oxygen and put on a drip.It was obviously a nasty reaction but I wanted to make people aware of the adverse effects to get help as soon as possible if they experience these symptoms.It lasted about 15 minutes.The worst 15 minutes of my life.
My daughter has to tell doctors now about her allergy to this drug.
