Amlodipine
34 reviewsReviews
I was prescribed Amlodopine for high blood pressure. It controlled my blood pressure well but I developed palpitations. After seeing GP and then a cardiologist I was told that Amlodipine can cause palpitations but was good for controlling blood pressure. I was prescribed bisoprolol to stabilise my heart beat and help control blood pressure further. All is now fine. Not everyone may get this side effect but if you do it can be frightening so an alternative might suit you better.
I had a slight facial rash after first taking this medicine, which may have been a coincidence or due to the medicine. However it disappeared and was not bad enough to merit my changing or discontinuing the tablets. I took in tandem with Ramipril and my BP was quickly reduced to a normal level.
I read a lot of reviews online about this drug and they were all so negative that I was very wary of taking it. However I have had no side effects and my blood pressure is coming down so good drug for me.
Although it brought my blood pressure down from 160 to 143 the side effects were terrible for me.I stopped using altogether and am waiting to see my doctor for a change of prescription
