My cardiologist got me to try this twice insisting it’s the most tolerated blood pressure medicine on the market with the least side effects. Well I’m sorry but one size does not fit all it has taken me forever to prove to them that this makes me so sick. I practically felt judged and shamed just because it didn’t work for me. I even attempted to score at 2.5 mg tablets in half and for two weeks I basically took 1.25 mg and still got sick. He added this to my carvedilol for which I do excellent on but amlodipine is a disaster drug for me. I completely empathize with anyone that feels the same way about this horrific medicine and if your cardiologist doesn’t believe you fight to prove yourself not to be in the one size, fits all category and then find yourself a new cardiologist like I did!! I never wanted to believe it but I do believe to this day doctors are paid by drug companies to push one drugs over another, thankfully my primary care and went over his head and got me the good combination that works with my carvedilol keep fighting for what’s best for you not what’s best for the doctors. Best wishes to everyone.

i started taking this about 6 weeks ago, after the first week i started to get a burning sensation in my lower legs and arms as well as nausea,a week or so later i was getting pupitations and it felt like my heart was going to break out my chest,i told my gp and she suggested taking just half a tablet to see if the side effects calmed down, they didnt ,i was taken of the medication ,and even now a week after finishing i am still getting nausea and rapid heart beat, all be it just in a morning now,i am a former cancer patient who receieved chemo and radio therapy, ive had bad reactions to medication before but not i did to like this ,my personal opinion is it should be taken off the market ,horrid experience

My review probably won’t mean much since this is my first week on Amlodipine, but I’ve noticed that my calves and ankles are already swelling and it makes me very nauseous. I know it takes a while to build up in the body and that it’s not immediate, but I’ve not noticed too significant of a difference in my blood pressure yet. I’m hoping I’ll feel better in a few weeks, but we’ll see.

I started getting restless legs as soon as I started Amlodipine. I didn’t realize that this medicine was causing my legs problems. It started in one leg, and the longer I was on it, it became worse spread omg to both legs. I got so I could sleep. I decided to stop Amlodipine to see if it made a difference. After 24 hours it was gone! I’m trying Lisinopril now. We’ll see how it does.
