Prof Alastair is an incredibly knowledgeable paediatrician who is well known and highly regarded in the field. In addition to his competence, Prof Alastair is one of the most caring doctors I have ever met. He is warm, kind, patient and he feels like an old friend straight away. You can see that he loves working with children and he is a real magician with young babies. Prof Alastair also understands the importance of providing support and guidance to parents. My son had a suspicion for quite a serious condition and Prof Alastair was extremely supportive to me and my husband. He put us at ease by answering all the questions with patience and without judgement, shared a lot of information and made sure we understood everything. He went above and beyond following up with our case, making us feel that we were not alone. We are incredibly lucky that our son happened to be under his care. The level of professionalism and passion for providing high quality care Prof Alastair displays are rare these days. He is really one of a kind. Meeting Prof Alastair and seeing his dedication to what he does made me reflect on myself, whether I do my work with a similar level of commitment.
