Professor Malek and his team at the Spire Hospital in Wrexham are amazing. I had a full hip replacement on the 4th of September 2021. I first saw Professor Malek for a consultation a few weeks previously who, after an xray during the consultation, diagnosed my hip osteoarthritis immediately. I had been suffering with groin pain for some years but it had got to the point where I couldn't walk or work. I was advised to have a full hip replacement. I was quite anxious about the operation but needn't have been. The whole team are very caring and calming. The spinal epidural is not painful at all and the operation took only 90 minutes. I was really well cared for by the ward doctor and the team of nurses after the operation. They are there for you constantly and I felt very safe and assured during my whole stay with them. I threw away my crutches exactly 4 weeks to the day of the operation and am now pain free and walking perfectly. My scar is less than 3 inches! Incredible!
