There are not enough adjectives to describe the Breast Care Team at Queens, they are almost beyond words. From the first mammogram, subsequent biopsy and consultations with Mrs Williams-Jones and Mrs Carmichael and treatment it has been faultless. Every step of the way was discussed with me, and options were offered as to my treatment. On the day of my operation I was truly terrified, until I went onto the ward, where once again, the team were exemplary, everything explained to me in detail. Who would have thought that once in theatre I would be laughing (and not because of the drugs) ; Mrs Carmichael and her team were so kind, relaxed and their confidence in what they were doing was so reassuring. Since diagnoses 6 weeks ago it has been a roller coaster of emotions and everyone of those emotions has been understood by the team and I have been treated as if I was their only patient. Mrs Carmichael's attributes are everything you could wish for; humble, inspiring, kind and a truly gifted lady.
