I had surgery on my knee as I had a tear. The operation (arthroscopy) was key hole but I was amazed that within a couple of days I was off any kind of pain killers and started to do some gentle exercises such as walking. Within a month I was back to the gym and after 6 weeks was doing some gentle runs and bike rides.
All in all it was a great experience.
