I can't thank Mr Shah enough, my care at Chelsfield Hospital and following excellent Physiotherapy. I have my life back. I am 65 years old and average build and was surprised to be suffering from an arthritic hip, which increasingly affected all areas of my active life. I was suffering day and night pain and my range of hip movement and tolerance of walking and general activity were frustratingly slow and reduced. I was pleased to be able to have a good discussion with Mr Shah about the right time to have surgery, in view of my age and he answered all of my questions. and reassured me of the most suitable prosthesis that he would use and allowed me to go away and make contact anytime when I had made my decision. In fact I waited another 6 months, in which time I had noticed a deterioration which had become very wearing. I was really pleased to see Mr Shah immediately before the operation and immediately after the surgery in theatre which was very calming and reassuring for me at a time of anxiety and nerves. His manner is very calm, caring and cheerful. I was amazed to go home after 2 nights and able to easily walk and climb stairs straight away. The nagging previous pain had gone. My improvement over the following weeks was better than I expected and speedily I have been able to resume a normal and active life. At my follow up appointment, Mr Shah was helpful and positive about the specific activities relevant to me. Ten weeks later and I am able to stand tall, walk distances, do the gardening and join in the fun of looking after my grandchildren. I am delighted to be free of taking round the clock pain relief and intend to make sure that I make the most of my new lease of life. I couldn't have wished to have been in greater hands.
