Mr Waseem Bhat

I am a Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive, Aesthetic and Hand Surgeon at Spire Leeds Hospital and a full time Substantive NHS Consultant at Leeds Teaching Hospitals and an honorary senior lecturer at the University of Leeds. I offer a full range of plastic, reconstructive, cosmetic and hand surgery procedures including facial surgery, aesthetic surgery of the breast, body contouring abdominoplasty, nerve, microsurgery reconstruction, skin cancer surgery and non-surgical treatments. My private practice mirrors my NHS specialist interests of hand surgery, nerve, microsurgery, skin cancer, breast surgery, abdominoplasty and body contouring surgery following excess weight loss. After completing training in the Yorkshire deanery, I trained in Plastic surgery at Oxford and Bristol and then completed specialist Plastic Surgery training on the North East Deanery rotation. Following this I undertook an advanced training fellowship in microsurgery and lower limb reconstruction at Leeds General Infirmary and a nationally appointed advanced training programme fellowship (Training Interface Group) in hand surgery at the Queen Elizabeth and Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Birmingham. Additionally, I have completed an MSc in reconstructive microsurgery and the British Diploma in Hand Surgery. In the NHS, I deal with all aspects of general plastic surgery, microsurgery, adult hand surgery, adult nerve injuries and reconstruction of complex upper and lower limb defects. I am a member of the surgical team for the National hand transplant programme at Leeds General Infirmary and teach on national and international courses on reconstructive plastic surgery including complex limb reconstruction, nerve injuries and hand surgery. I am a member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS), the British Society for Surgery of the hand (BSSH) and I am on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council.
