Mr Olarinde examined me, sent me for an ultra sound scan which showed a lump on my right hand thyroid. He give me a choice of wait and watch or an immediate removal of the affected area. I choose an operation. Prior to the operation he explained exactly what he was about to do. As far as I am concerned the operation went smoothly and there was no subsequent loss of voice which was a possibility. I congratulate him on and appreciate his obvious skill as a surgeon. The lump was benign and I was informed within a reasonable time scale given the state of the NHS. I found the operating team to be knowledgeable and enthusiastic and medical ward team lacking in motivation.
