Wed 4/17/2024 10:01 AM I had an appointment with Mr. Wale Olarinde at Spire Claremont Hospital on Monday, March 25th, 2024 at 2:00 pm. The consultation cost £200, and an additional £185 was charged for a hearing test.   When I met Mr. Olarinde, he immediately started asking quick-fire questions and expressed interest only in the current symptoms rather than the past ones. However, he received two phone calls during our conversation, which interrupted our discussion. He seemed annoyed by the second call. After examining my ears, he said they were fine. He noted my general health issues on his computer and gave me a card for a hearing test. He did not prescribe any medication and only examined my ears (not nose or throat).    After the appointment, I was unsure about his diagnosis of my left ear, which still felt blocked. He called me twice at home, now slowly asking the same questions about my symptoms, and I gave the same answers as before. I eventually decided to end the consultation because I felt like I was wasting my time and money with this doctor. Despite his being polite on the phone, he wrote in a letter to my GP saying that I was impolite: this was untrue and I found it defamatory. I simply explained that I did not want to continue with his services because I was confused about his diagnosis, and did not feel satisfied with the consultation. I thanked him for his time and said goodnight. The letter only told of my medication, symptoms, hearing test result and visual inspection of my ear: no useful professional opinion about my condition was provided.   Based on my experience, I do not feel comfortable recommending him to others.
