I saw Mr Patel following persistent and progressive shoulder pain over a 9 month period. The rehabilitation programme I had followed with my chiropractor after an MRI had not helped. Mr Patel listened carefully to my description of the history and carried out mobility tests, an ultrasound and arranged an immediate X-ray. After gathering all the information he explained the results and what could be done to alleviate the pain. I booked the surgery via his extremely helpful secretary, Mala for 10 days later. Mr Patel carefully explained the process prior to surgery and, most importantly, the fact that diagnostics do not necessarily show everything and that in 10-15% of cases a rotator cuff tear may be found during the arthroscopy. We allowed for this eventuality on the consent form. I’m thankful we did as a subscapularis tear was found needing repair. I have found Mr Patel to be patient, diligent and meticulous at all times and would not hesitate to recommend him.
