Generally, the time scale from seeing Mr Arzaglou in May and the operation in June has been excellent, Mr. Arzoglou carried out a thorough examination of my compressed nerve problem and agreed to carry out a Laminectomy. He also noted my hip problems and pain which seemed to be unrelated to the compressed nerve. This diagnosis is ongoing. At my pre-op in June I was told that a Physiotherapist would visit me after the operation, but this did not happen. An appointment was made at the Physiotherapy department on the 11th August 2016, where I also spoke to Mr Arzoglou, who spent some time talking to me. However no physiotherapy has been forthcoming. The operation has been a great success and has reduced my back pain considerably. After 5 years of being told nothing could be done, I can only thank Mr Arzoglou for his genius and expertise and his sympathetic manner. My only complaint is with the lack of consideration on the ward. I had constipation and water problems which were not considered when I was discharged, although this was pointed out to the nurses.
