I was terrified of having this procedure because my costume making career is dependant on full use of both arms and the fine muscle movement in my hands. Mr. Kochher was an EXCELLENT surgeon. After 8 months my arm was stronger than before the injury and I was pain free for the first time in 3 years.
I didn't experience much pain after the operation but at the 4 month mark I felt that the operation had been a failure because I still wasn't experiencing normal movement, my arm was weak and I was in low grade pain constantly. Mr. Kochher had warned me of this healing/ pain trajectory and he was spot on with the timing.
By 5 months things got better and by 6 months I felt great. Two more months of strengthening exercises and I was in a perfect state.
