Tim is an outstanding surgeon. I started seeing him a few years ago when a 'lesion' was picked up on an MRI that I had for an ear issue. After a few years of active monitoring it became clear the tumour was growing and it had to be addressed so we could identify what it was and how to treat it. I had to have a Sub-occipital Craniotomy and Laminectomy & De-bulking of  Fourth Ventricular Tumour. Until the operation happened we couldn't identify exactly what the tumour was and because of where it was, the operation was highly delicate. My extensive support network did some significant research on Tim and his recommended course of treatment. He came out with flying colours including validation of his recommendations and endorsement from his fellow colleagues. For me, there was no question of someone else doing the procedure, I trusted him, he was familiar with my case and I didn't want to go with anyone else. Trust is so important in these kinds of situations, so if you're the patient, remember to follow your heart.  Tim made it clear that I was his main priority until we came out 'the other side' and I felt I was. He is calm, capable and compassionate. He was as supportive and reassuring to my husband as he was to me.  It was his suggestion to have a second neurosurgeon (Mr Andrew Martin who was also epic) to support him on the day. Everything was very clearly explained to me. Tim was there when I came round in the ICU and both he and Andrew checked in every day I was in hospital.  I trusted him with my life and I would do it again.
