I find this difficult to write because words cannot express the high regard in which I hold the brilliant surgeon Mr Thomas Satyadas. From the first meeting I felt we were in safe hands. On every consultation Mr Satyadas proved to be an excellent listener, allowing plenty of time to discuss treatment. He made us feel as though William was his only patient. He demonstrated sheer determination to get the correct diagnosis and see it through. Because of this, during this time of worry, it was so very reassuring to know we had Mr Satyadas fighting to make William well. A very complex and unbelievably challenging journey resulted in a successful outcome. He performed a distal pancreatectomy to remove a mucinous cystic neoplasm. The surgery took around 14 hours and following this he came out of theatre and explained how everything went in detail. I was totally amazed, relieved and could not have been more grateful. During the time following his surgery Mr Satyadas checked William everyday and would always take time to have a friendly chat whilst enquireing not only about William but about the whole family. William's postoperative care from the entire incredible 'dream team' ensured that his discharge from hospital was early and he recovered with no complications. Infact, we were all able to go on holiday 3 weeks afterwards which is remarkable following such complex surgery. All aspects of his care were ABOVE AND BEYOND. This has been care of the highest standard possible and I cannot thank Mr Thomas Satyadas enough. Thank you. Amanda Timpany
