My wife first came under the care of Mr Satyadas some two years ago. She had had an MRI scan for a back injury and it had been noticed that she appeared to have something on her pancreas and she was referred to Mr Satyadas. At the first consultation Mr Satydas, a really nice charming man, put us at our ease. He told us that there were indications of a growth of some kind on the pancreas but believed that a further scan of the pancreas was required in order to obtain clearer details of what was wrong. This was done and a further consultation followed. At the second consultation he showed us the scan results and said there was something showing on the pancreas. He then went on to explain that the problem was in an area of the pancreas that he and colleagues who he had discussed the scan with had not experienced before. Their joint opinion was that it was unlikely to be cancerous but should be monitored. He then went on to explain that the location of the growth was such that any attempt to do a biopsy would be difficult and that my wife's general health was such that he would not recommend it. During the whole of the consultation Mr Sataydas was caring and professional, answering all our questions in an easily understood manner. We have since had other consultations and they have always been conducted in the same warm. friendly, professional manner. A few weeks ago my wife was not feeling well with symptoms Mr Satyadas had told us she might experience if there was any worsening of the pancreatic problem. We made contact with Mr Satyadas's secretary to try and arrange an appointment. We were advised that he was on holiday but would be back at the weekend and she would bring the matter to his immediate attention. On the Sunday evening we received a telephone call from Mr Satyadas asking how my wife was and saying that the next day he would arrange an MRI scan for her as soon as possible. On the Monday morning he contacted us to say that the scan had been arranged for Tuesday morning and that he would arrange a further consultation once he and other colleagues had been able to consider the scan. The next morning, Wednesday, he contacted us again to ask us if we could go and see him that evening. This we did to be told that while the problem with the pancreas still existed nothing had changed from the first and subsequent scans and he and his colleagues didn't think that it was cancerous. However he believed the condition should continue to be monitored. Yet again he was warm and reassuring, seeing him is like visiting a friend a good friend. To conclude, we think that Mr Satyadas is a great physician, a caring person and a good friend. We are delighted to award him the maximum number of stars. In fact we would give him more if we could.
