It amazes me that the NHS is criticised on so many points but when you are seriously ill I cannot fault this organisation that saved my life, quickly and efficiently as the great NHS!
This also goes for everyone who works for the NHS, Mr Ahmed is a very caring, confident and versatile consultant. I have been under his care for the last 3 years and when I say versatile, I have seen him treat all his patients with the individual care that we all need. Some consultants are not always too good at seeing the patient in full, some only see the disease and therefore miss the personal touches but I have found Mr Ahmed gave me the full caring package.
All procedures were carefully described together with the potential outcomes. As with everything in life the outcomes do not always go as planned but with every new stage of treatment Mr Ahmed showed calmness and confidence that we would find a way to beat cancer.
And we did!
And although I hope I will never see him again, I would totally go through it all again with Mr Ahmed!
