I was diagnosed with breast cancer in Feb 2013 and Mr Smith and his team have been in charge of my care and treatment which is still on-going. I've had two operations and will need further surgery to finish the breast reconstruction process. I have always found Mr Smith to be informative, caring and professional with an excellent bedside manner. He is a skilful surgeon and always explains procedures and options clearly, without using unnecessary medical jargon, taking time to answer any questions. I feel I can trust his judgement implicitly which is crucial at a time when you are feeling very vulnerable after receiving a cancer diagnosis. Throughout my treatment I have received excellent care from all staff in the Breast Care Unit at Broomfield Hospital and would like to thank Mr Smith and his team for helping me through a very difficult time in such a professional way.
