From my very first appointment with Mr Monkhouse I felt at ease with him. I was quite a challenging case however he was understanding to my cause. He took time to listen to what I had to say regarding my past medical history and my concerns regarding my gastric banding. Although my surgery was almost 12 years ago and am aware of the problems this surgery can cause he still took time to refresh my memory on the do's and dont's relating to this procedure which was very much appreciated. His explanation both verbally and in diagram form was very clear and concise. His patient manner is excellent and his caring is exemplary. I would certainly recommend him to any of my family or friends. If there is a downside to Mr Monkhouse it would be that North Tyneside General Hospital has lost an excellent Doctor. I wish him well in his pursuits for Consultant
