Mr Monkhouse is one of the most personable, compassionate and accessible doctors I have ever encountered. He is kind, helpful, positive, good-humoured and a consummate professional. I knew I would be in the most capable of hands soon after meeting him when admitted to hospital for suspected pancreatitis as a result of gallstones. Mr Monkhouse advised me that the removal of the gallbladder would be necessary and explained the process in detail as well as supplying me with a fact sheet. He was also very reassuring on the day of my surgery, even making an appearance just before I was anaesthetised which was genuinely appreciated given I was fairly nervous as it was my first ever operation. I had nothing to worry about. The operation was a complete success. My recovery was very straightforward and quick. I am now fully recovered bearing very little evidence of having had surgery - a testament to his surgical skills! As well as successfully removing my inflamed gallbladder, he removed a rather large lipoma from my abdominal wall, also leaving minimal scarring. Be assured that if Mr Monkhouse is your surgeon, you will undoubtedly be in very good hands. He goes above and beyond what is normally expected of a healthcare professional, even telling me that I could contact him whilst he was on holiday. He is clearly very passionate about the job he does. He was constantly in contact and available prior and post surgery and instills a great deal of confidence at a time that can be very worrying and unsettling. I would recommend him to anyone who might need similar surgical procedures. Excellent overall experience and highly impressive care. I could not have asked for a better surgeon - thank you, Mr Monkhouse! Rosa Giannetta-Williams
