It is so rare that I write reviews, or get over emotional about things. But Dr Monkhouse literally has me in tears at the minute. He has gone way above and beyond what you would expect of another human, never mind Dr. I did not have my surgery with Dr Monkhouse. He has never met me in person and never made a penny out of me. I paid for my gastric sleeve private to another company (which I will avoid naming for now - but please do not use a group starting with a R and ending with a Y). Despite them offering two years aftercare, when things have gone wrong, there is no aftercare. Not even a follow up apppointment with the surgeon!! I have had issues since my surgery three months ago, which are destroying my life. It sounds dramatic, but it is so real. I can’t focus on anything but my issues, I can barely eat and drink, I am exhausted and working is becoming impossible due to these issues. The healthcare provider I use is not interested. Says any issues I may think I have, are impossible, and if possible not curable?! Out of desperation I messaged Dr Monkhouse on a facebook group for weight loss. It is a Sunday so I certainly do not expect a reply. He also made no money from me, does not know me, and likely does not want to listen to my complaints - so as much as I know he will not reply... I am desperate and try him anyway. You know what! He replied, he was helpful and he expects nothing in return! How can someone so busy with work, private work,family etc on a weekend take time to reply to someone who he has not done anything for. He is not responsible for my care in any way, yet takes the time to help me. I am just so taken back at how great this man is. I live in Sheffield, but when I do need any tests, I will certainly make the journey to Gatwick as would trust this Dr 100%. If you are looking at weight loss surgery, please do not go for the cheapest option like I did. Sadly I am now paying the price with my health and mental state. Dr Monkhouse - I will never than you enough. I hope to meet you one day if I come to Gatwick for the barium swallow. Thank you!!!!!! PS - I have had to tick I was seen by him tot write this review. So where I was seen is not relevant.
