I approached Mr Monkhouse for Gastric Bypass surgery when I felt like I had no other choice. He talked me through everything and then, at my request, he managed to fit me in less than a month later. In the 2 weeks that followed, I was re admitted twice for chronic constipation (just my body's reaction to the surgery), both times he came to see me and reassure me even on his birthday!! A couple of months later I developed Gall Stones, and had to have my Gall Bladder removed and again the care and attention that I received from Mr Monkhouse was above anything I could have ever expected. Throughout the whole process he has been so reassuring which was great for my anxiety. I have never met a Consultant more caring and friendly than Mr Monkhouse. I am now 3 months post op and I have already lost over 45% of my excess body weight! I cannot thank Mr Monkhouse enough for changing my life!
