Early November 2015 I found myself travelling by Ambulance with a suspected heart attack in a lot of pain trying to be brave and thinking ah well I am in the best place . Having lost my parents and a brother to heart attacks, I thought my fate was inevitable. However, after 12 hours it was decided it was my gallbladder, phew I thought I had no idea a gallbladder attack could be that painful but what a relief! I had the extreme good fortune to be referred to the lovely Mr. Simon Monkhouse, who explained the procedure and even drew a diagram which I could clearly understand. 22nd January 2016 the day dawned, and the op was done by keyhole. I must admit, when Simon told me I would probably go home later that day, I was dubious, having had a laparscope at Humana Wellington and travelled home feeling quite unwell the same day, a few years ago, I had said at the time never again! Amazingly I came up from the operation at 1810pm, tea and toast at 1900 and walked out feeling absolutely hunky dory at 2000, in no pain whatsoever. is this a record? Simon and his team are obviously extremely practised and skilful at what they do, I felt very safe and cared for. Thankyou so much for mending me, I feel very lucky to have been one of your patients with grateful regards Christine
