I found Mr Simon Jackson to be very Professional, Direct, kind, and considerate. He gave thoughtful and honest consideration to all my questions and concerns. I felt safe in his care and found him easy to talk to as he also had a friendly disposition and a sense of humour. He gave me two options for surgery and I left it to his judgement as to which would be preferable for me once I was in Theatre. He also explained what to expect in recovery. and what I was likely to experience back on the ward and later when I got home. I did feel a bit vulnerable once out of the hospital environment and I guess most people do. I remembered the problems he predicted so found my way through them, tried 2 types of laxatives, walking helped in small doses with wind and pressure. A pain in the bottom eased with time and I discovered cling film is brilliant for keeping wound sites very dry and clean and it sticks to the skin like glue, the wounds healed well in 4 weeks. I am 5 weeks since my op and have started kegal. exercises and some TA exercises but feel as if I am overdoing it so am easing off with these for a few days. Listen to your body!
