For 5 years, I had to endure horrendous, often disabling, pain due to gallstones and a trapped bile duct. To be honest, I was losing faith in the NHS over it all, until Mr Jaunoo got on board. He confirmed that my situation was a ‘ticking time bomb’ and arranged for surgery. It turned out to be a fairly complex laparoscopic (keyhole) operation, but his many years’ experience — and his excellent team supporting him — meant open surgery was thankfully avoided. From the outset, Mr Jaunoo was informative and reassuring, and he seemed to have a genuine interest in getting me better. I was obviously nervous about the procedure, but I had complete faith in Mr Jaunoo.

I’ve since had a follow-up consultation with Mr Jaunoo, who checked the scarring, and listened to and answered any concerns, before discharging me. The NHS REALLY needs to have more people like Mr Jaunoo on its books. He is someone for whom I will always have a huge amount of respect and gratitude.
