I had suffered for nearly a decade with pain in my knees and hip & finally managed to get a referral from my GP. I had never heard of Spire Hartswood Hospital prior to meeting Mr Masterson but I'm so pleased to have been referred there. From the initial consultation, Mr Masterson confirmed that whilst the knees were bad, the right hip was far worse and needed swift replacement. I was delighted to get the call to attend in January to have the surgery. From the outset, he managed to put my mind at rest with reassuring words and information about the procedure. As an 85 year old, this made me feel much better about what is a major surgery. It's now 6 weeks after the surgery and having had another consultation with Mr Masterson he is extremely happy with my progress. The scar, whilst 7-8 inches long is almost invisible and I'll soon be walking without the aid of crutches (the last 4 weeks I've been down to 1 crutch). Throughout every meeting with Mr Masterson, he (& indeed the whole team at the hospital) has shown a level of expertise & professionalism that is just 1st class. I would not hesitate to recommend Mr Masterson to anyone who has hip or knees issues & requires surgery. I look forward to receiving a "call" in the near future regarding knee surgery !
