I'm 29 years old. I suffered a bad knee in May 17 injury playing rugby (Full rupture of ACL and MCL, partial tear of PCL and meniscus damage) I had no previous problems with my knee. I was referred to Dr Trikha who suggested the recovery plan of 'prehab' from May to July to allow the MCL to begin heal naturally, followed by an ACL reconstruction (hamstring graft) in July17. Op went well, the early recovery stages were tough but i'm now 8 months post operation and i feel like i will make a full recovery back to rugby.
My advice to anyone about to have this operation:
- Get a GOOD sport specific knee physio.
- Work really hard on mobility in in the early stages post op.
- You're in safe hands with Dr Trikha
