An unusual orthopaedic surgeon who tries to avoid operating, even when BUPA paying!
Both my wife and I have seen him with knee pain, she had keyhole work on her knee 20 years ago after a car accident and got a recurrence of knee pain 5 years ago. He sent her for MRI and argued that to remove more material would mean she would be after a new knee in 10 years time. She has done well with just physio.
I went to him as a runner with knee pain and he has done vhis best to avoid operating although still ends most consults with "I'm not refusing to do it but let's just see how things progress"
A good listener but as quick as most surgeons!
