I was admitted to UCHW following 65 nights at George Eliot Hospital in Nuneaton. It is fair to say that I was not expected to survive my condition, having developed acute necrotic pancreatitis, sepsis and pneumonia following an ERCP day procedure at the Nuneaton Hospital. I was under the care of Mr Khan and his superb team for 128 days, starting off on life support in the intensive care unit, before being moved to extended care and then finally a general ward. Mr Khan was in charge of my care and recovery throughout the whole time and it is fair to say that it is entirely due to his care, knowledge and expertise that I am fit and healthy today. After my initial discharge, I was readmitted twice to the University Hospital, both times under the care of Mr Khan due to complications but each time I was comfortable in the knowledge that I was in safe hands. I am completely aware that I was a very challenging patient, both medically and personally, but there is no doubt that I owe my current excellent good health to the care I received from this exceptional consultant.
