Richard Shurrock 4 Summers Close Kirkby Mallory LE9 7QP Dr Khan first introduced himself to me in attendance with my children in a ward and he had a difficult task of advising me of my situation. In my humble opinion he did an excellent job and did not leave a stone unturned. He allowed us all to ask questions and he answered these opening and honestly. He explained fully my dilemma and I was under no allusion as to the critical state that I was in and given my personality I was very grateful for honesty. When he left he had outlined all of the options and risks and although it was not definitive which way he was going to go he obviously was not aware fully until he opened me up when I had the surgery a week later. This proceeded and the next time I met Dr Khan was approximately 24 hours before the operation. He had gathered more information through the tests and was able to give a clearer picture. The two things I remember vividly were I had to be mentally and physically ready for this operation and I was able to convince Dr Khan that I was. His positive attitude throughout all of these consultations enabled me to put total trust in him and his team. From the beginning to end the speed at which Dr Khan and the hospital reacted and addressed my situation was an absolute credit to one and all. For one so young he possesses an absolute professionalism which I totally admire. My words above do not sum up the gratitude and admiration for Mr Khan and the entire team, as without their rapid and professional experience the pancreatic cancer would not have been diagnosed and operated upon . I can whole heartedly say that my life was in Mr Khans hands and I would not he here today recovering and looking forward to my future without his actions.
