Share review of Mr Rohit Jain
Through the NHS I saw Mr Jain back in 2016 for osteoarthritis in my right knee. I was in a lot of pain and my consultations with him and his registrars were just as painful. Continuously preaching the ‘fat card’ at me which was really insulting. My treatment was dragged out until it was decided I could have an Arthroscopy. There was no improvement yet I was dismissed and signed off. Luckily my GP was sympathetic and found me another consultant. Now I’ve had a total knee replacement and do not suffer any pain what so ever.
Patient’s safety remains an utmost priority for me. There are various factors which we have to consider to ensure patient’s suitability for safe surgery. High BMI is a high risk for both anaesthetics and joint replacement surgery. An advice to lose weight prior to surgery should not be taken as an offence but as a safety alert. The patient has to equally take responsibility and play an active role in helping to make their surgery safe and effective so as to ensure a good long term outcome.
