I contacted Mr Laing after seeing him on the Surgeons at the edge of life TV programme, carrying out the same operation that I had 12 months prior. No body knows what other outcomes might have been, but all I can say is I wish I had known about Mr Laing prior to my complex spinal surgery. From the first few words I felt at ease. Mr Laing, explored my history to give him an holistic over view and responded in a kind and empathetic way, putting me immediately at ease. Following which was a detailed explanation of my scan, presented in a way I could understand. Dr Laing's expert opinion was sought as a second opinion to my condition and I left the consultation feeling reassured knowing that my condition should not worsen, but if it does I am in capable hands; hands that I would fully trust. I am now fully aware of and understand my current spinal anatomy ( that no one else has bothered to fully explain) . My only complaint is that I am just frustrated that he did not do my initial surgery, but unfortunately you cannot turn back the hands of time. However, given the change he would be my surgeon of choice.
