My X rays were not available to Mr Laing. Previous consultancy had shown "concern" about the ACDF procedure performed by Mr Shackleford at Warrington. These were clearly apparent on X rays. The concern about my left shoulder droop was immediate. Not developed. My ACDF was performed because I couldnt see reverse mirror after setting it up before driving off. My head had simpy drooped without my realising. I am unable to do any of the lifestyle choices ie swimming and dancing at all. so I "cannot do my best and live with the pain". The ensuing Shoulder replacement did not improve anything. it actually made things worse. I am also now pursuing revison surgery on that procedure. I am not sure a Video call was able to able to get across my patient feelings etc and expectations. I was hoping for revision surgery (whatever the risks) option for the ACDF as I am totally convinced that the original procedure failed for reasons not clear, and needs a replacement disc at c3 and whatever may be considered necessary at c4/c5 which was never offered at pre op stage I simply expected a disc replacement at c3. Perhaps this would have been more explainable on a face to face, and physical presence consultation. Nothing will shake me from my belief that the ACDF failed and needs revision (At my risk) surgery. Its not possible to be swimming my best times and strongest the week before the ACDF and then not able to swim immediately after the ACDF!! That clearly shows something was amiss after the operation. I pointed out that Warrington Hospital had been suspended from spinal surgery at the time of my ACDF due to "suspicious" events and that all patients including myself were transferred for care to other hospitals in the North West and Warrington has not been allowed to resume spinal surgery and my surgeon no longer consults at Warrington!! All this I feel would have been suitably discussed at a face to face consultation where video link time constraints are not so tight. Very disappointed
